More Students Online,
New Poll Shows
It's graduation time, and the class of 2001 is the first to be fully wired -- about more than just getting out of school.
A survey of 2001 college seniors found that more than 99% of them are online.
A study of the freshman class four years ago found that three-quarters were online. Since then, students have doubled the amount of time they spend on the Internet, says Deanna Tillisch, director of the study by pollster Harris Interactive Inc.
"It's their primary source for news and information," she said. "Among the general population, the Net is dead last for news and information."
