My husband and I were planning a brief getaway -- three days in Vancouver, British Columbia -- without the kids.
In making the arrangements, my husband casually mentioned that I might need to update my passport (he travels frequently on business, so his was fine).
He was right. Not only had mine expired long ago, but I also had married and changed my name since acquiring the old passport in 1988.
