Mind may continue after brain dies

Two U.K. scientists studying heart attack patients found evidence that consciousness may continue after a patient is clinically dead. The finding resurrects the debate over whether there is life after death and whether the human soul exists. The studies showed patients without brain function have lucid thought processes with reasoning and memory formation, the Southampton General Hospital scientists said. Much larger-scale studies are needed, they added.
