Democrats Vs. The Little Guy
IBD gives too much credit to Democrats in "Economic Start-Up" (Editorial, Feb. 21) by assuming they want to help "the little guy."
Democrats, by and large, have no interest in helping the little guy. They seek only to continually create as many dependents on the federal government as possible, thereby retaining their power over the little guy. You acknowledge as much yourself in "Democrats' Dream" (Editorial, Feb. 21) when you say they "want to run everyone's lives."
You also state that "both parties agree that jobs are better than welfare." Democratic policies since Franklin D. Roosevelt have succeeded in creating the largest welfare state the country has known. When a Democrat says he wants to create jobs, it's evidently only rhetoric. Actions speak louder than words, and I have seen nothing from Democrats that makes me believe they have any interest in assisting entrepreneurs.
