Congress turns up heat on Enron
Another committee plans a probe of Enron's collapse. The Senate Governmental Affairs panel might look at links between the energy trader and the White House. The panel will subpoena documents next week and set a Jan. 24 hearing. The SEC and the Justice and Labor depts. are also probing Enron.
Enron's top execs oversaw the partnerships that led to the firm's demise, published reports said.
Enron said in bankruptcy court that CFO Jeffrey McMahon should not have to testify at next week's hearing over whether to move the trial from New York to Houston.
