A graduation ceremony at a high school in Vancouver, British Columbia, was nearly ruined after thieves stole all the band instruments from campus.
The Vancouver Police Department recovered the property and collared the thieves within four days of the robbery.
How did police act fast? By using a software system that's linked with Vancouver's pawnshops.
In place for a few months, the software already has saved hundreds of man-hours, say Vancouver police. The program has greatly improved the department's crime-solving capability, says Sgt. Doug Fisher of the Property Crimes unit.
