Byline: JOSEPH GUINTO
President Bush challenged Congress on Wednesday to pass an economic stimulus package -- and to do it before the end of the month.
"My call to Congress is to get to work and get something done," Bush said in a stern address.
Bush's comments came after he held a morning meeting with top leaders of the House and Senate to discuss stimulus details.
Last week, the House narrowly passed a stimulus plan that divided Republicans and Democrats. The $99.5 billion package was heavy on tax relief for businesses and had few new spending initiatives.
$70 Billion
Senate Democrats want a smaller plan. They prefer something in the area of $70 billion. They also want the stimulus to be a more-balanced mix of spending and tax cuts.
