U.S., ASEAN sign anti-terror pact

The sweeping new treaty with 10 Southeast Asian nations aims at substantially upgrading security in the region -- a key front in the war on al-Qaida. It's one of the most extensive security arrangements concluded by the U.S. and its allies in the aftermath of the Sept. 11 attack. The 11 nations will share information, boost police cooperation and plug holes that extremists could exploit.
