Bush narrows fraud bill's reach
Sens. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., and Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, who crafted the whistle-blower section of the corporate reform bill, asked the White House to reconsider what they called a narrow, flawed interpretation. Bush interprets the provision as meaning whistle-blowers are protected only if they talk to a congressional panel "in the course of an investigation."
