Byline: MARILYN MUCH
It's no secret that fast-food operators have to offer more than the usual fare to stay competitive.
That's why Frank Belatti is open to adding new brands to his company's plate.
Belatti is chief executive of AFC Enterprises Inc., best known for running the Popeyes Chicken & Biscuits and Church's Chicken chains.
But the company, like many of its peers, has moved into new concepts via acquisitions.
AFC's roster today includes diverse fare such as Cinnabon bakeries and Seattle's Best Coffee and Torrefazione Italia cafes.
Belatti still might consider another buy, but he's in no hurry.
