Pakistan seizes 16 from al-Qaida

Authorities said the captured fugitives were believed involved in a recent shootout that killed 10 Pakistani soldiers. The arrests came amid an intensive search in tribal areas on the Afghan border. The eight Chechens, two Sudanese, two Nigerians and four Afghans were all being interrogated.

AFGHANISTAN: A large ammo dump blew up, killing at least 19 people and injuring dozens. The local Afghan commander blamed a rocket attack.
