A series of industries have climbed and fallen in the 27 months since techs topped in March 2000. One of the few that has held strong throughout that time: home builders. They're now ranked 8th among the 197 industries tracked by IBD.

Many of the group's leaders have started new bases after long prior run-ups. NVR broke out of its last base in late November. The stock built a short consolidation on top of that base early this year, then took off again. It hit a high of 391 in early May and has corrected since then. It's 13% off its high, trading just below its 50-day moving average.
