The Nasdaq gave back a 1.2% gain for a 1% loss on heavier volume Friday despite strong consumer sentiment and factory growth. The index fell 2.7% for the week.
P.F. Chang's China Bistro's breakdown continued as it slid 0.55 to 32.82 on twice normal volume for its sixth straight loss. The Chinese restaurant operator managed to recoup some of the day's damage, but remains well below its 50-day line.
Multimedia Games broke below its 50-day line on fast trade, losing 2.78 to 29.82. The stock had recovered from a mid-April plunge and was resuming its advance before Friday's slip. It announced Wednesday that the New York Lottery picked it to provide the system for video lottery games at state racetracks.
Cognizant Technology Solutions swooned 4.12 to 48.77 on 4 1/2 times normal volume. The stock hit a 52-week high of 55.50 on May 15, but reversed the same day and has trended sideways since, though it remains above its 50-day line.
