Suggesting "complacency" has set in about disease risk, U.K. and French researchers found the prevalence of HIV, gonorrhea and syphilis seems to be rising. New HIV cases from heterosexual sex rose 48% in '95-'00 across 10 European countries. The overall HIV infection rate was stable due to declines among gay men and IV-drug users.
