Bush lists Crusader alternatives
Attempting to drive a stake through the Crusader artillery system, President Bush proposed to Congress new ways to spend the $475 mil he initially sought for it next year. He proposed $310 mil to accelerate the Army's Future Combat System, which establishes advanced communications among units, $57.5 mil to develop prototypes of a precision attack missile, and $48 mil toward a precision artillery projectile.
