Overture loses AOL deal, plunges
The Web search firm crashed 36% after AOL chose Google for search services. Overture, formerly GoTo.com, raised Q2 estimates to 23 cents a share due to new tax estimates. It projects '02 revenue of $530 mil to $570 mil and profit of 97 cents to $1.05. On Friday, Overture soared 32% after blowing out Q1 estimates and extending its partnership with Yahoo.
TiVo, a TV recording device maker, will offer AOL features such as instant messaging and live chat to users of its Series2 system.

David Smith, the New Jersey man who three years ago unleashed a computer bug that caused an estimated $1.2 bil in damage, was sentenced in federal court to 20 months in prison. The ex-AT&T computer programmer pleaded guilty in Dec. '99 to spreading the virus to cause damage.
