Andersen snubbed by committee

A House committee probing Enron refused on constitutional grounds to turn over documents to Arthur Andersen. The papers relate to the panel's interviews of Andersen's chief auditor on the Enron account. Andersen is scheduled to face trial Monday on a criminal obstruction charge for destroying Enron-related documents.

KPMG Consulting is close to acquiring Andersen's U.S. consulting arm and parts of its overseas consulting business for more than $250 mil, reports say.
