Tech pay dips; 1st time in decade

Information technology managers should see an 8% drop in total compensation this year, while standard IT worker pay should fall 11%, trade publication Information Week said. IT managers earn $83,000 a year in base pay, and staffers make $61,000. Manager bonuses will slide from $17,000 last year to $6,000 in '02.
