Andersen, KPMG deal looks dead
The embattled accounting firm's planned merger of its non-U.S. ops with those of KPMG took a blow as Andersen's lucrative Spanish unit struck a separate pact with rival Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu. It's the first European unit to go solo. Andersen's Singapore unit may talk with Ernst & Young. Dozens of other Andersen units in Asia, Latin America and Europe look set to follow. Andersen seeks an interim CEO.
