Wal-Mart heads Fortune 500 list
The discounter is now the biggest firm in the world, topping the annual list with nearly $220 bil in sales. Wal-Mart, No. 2 a year ago, overtook oil giant Exxon Mobil. Collapsed energy trader Enron rose two spots to No. 5 because Fortune magazine used restated earnings from Jan. 1 to Sept. 30.
