Intel to launch P4 chip at 2.4 GHz
Intel will unveil its latest Pentium 4 on Monday. The microprocessors will first be made using current 200 mm wafer technology. But it'll quickly shift to 300 mm technology. That'll make it much cheaper for Intel to make the P4. More on A6
Novell, Microsoft conflict in trial
Novell denied it tried to use antitrust cases against Microsoft to get favorable treatment. It did say it offered to give Microsoft good publicity if Microsoft used Novell software in its network servers. Microsoft had a different account, saying a '00 meeting with Novell reflected a veiled threat to aid the Justice Dept.'s suit.
Microsoft was more willing to share a key programming tool with Palm after learning the handheld device maker was involved in Microsoft's antitrust case, Palm said.
