Lucent, Solectron ink 2-part deal
The telecom gear firm chose Solectron to supply it with optical gear over three years. The pact should close in Lucent's Q3 and could be worth $2 bil. As part of the deal, Lucent sold its manufacturing ops in Mass. to Solectron for $125 mil. Solectron will sell the plant, where 2,800 Lucent staffers now work.
