EU OKs official's Microsoft spot

The European Commission is satisfied that an official on a three-year leave to work for the software giant won't pass on sensitive info about rivals' technology or the group's antitrust case against the firm. Detlef Eckert, the group's head of IT planning, will work in an unrelated area and hasn't seen anything in the case since July 2001, the group says.
