Verizon Set To Spend $5 Billion
On Network For Data Services
Networking and telecom gear makers finally may get some good news Monday.
Verizon Communications Intl. is set to announce a new service called Enterprise Advance, which aims to give large and small businesses a bigger array of voice and data services.
According to a report from Lehman Bros., Verizon plans to spend about $5 billion over the next five years in building the Enterprise Advance network.
Traditional telecom gear may benefit if Verizon needs to install more connections to customers. But the biggest beneficiary may be networking gear makers, since Enterprise Advance will most likely focus on data services.
