Nokia launches CDMA for China
The cell phone giant merged two joint ventures into a 60%-owned Beijing firm, one of China's biggest foreign-owned entities, and began production on handsets that use the CDMA standard. Nokia, the clear leader in the GSM segment, wants a 15% CDMA market share this year. Motorola leads in CDMA, big in the U.S. and China. Nokia won't use chips from CDMA creator Qualcomm. More on A5

Weak results for Regeneron drug
The biotech said most patients in a clinical trial developed resistance to its Axokine obesity drug. Regeneron Pharmaceuticals said the drug produced just a small weight loss in patients during the yearlong study. Regeneron plunged 57% to a three-year low of 7.52.
