The Presbyterian Church (USA) ended its national convention May 31 without reconsidering a proposal to end its ban on gay clergy. Opponents of the policy have vowed to keep pressing for change.

Four people were arrested May 31 for allegedly throwing pies at members of the Topeka, Kan., Westboro Baptist Church, who were protesting at Lincoln High School's commencement because a gay graduate received a scholarship.
