Job losses come with merger of Miller Freeman

SAN FRANCISCO - The merger between Miller Freeman Publications and New York-based Gralla Publications, announced March 1, will result in bi-coastal layoffs to eliminate redundant jobs, said executives at the merged company, Miller Freeman Inc.

Company president Robert Boucher, formerly the president of Gralla, said about 60 positions would be eliminated, to be split evenly between San Francisco and New York. Boucher said that total does not include another 40 circulation-department layoffs at Gralla approved late last year, before the merger took effect.
