Sports Editor Plans Weekly News Tabloid
A former sports editor for the defunct Clearwater Sun is planning to publish a weekly news tabloid targeted to residents of central Pinellas County.
The Clearwater News should debut Nov. 9, says editor and publisher Mike Moore, with a circulation of less than 50,000. The paper will start out with 24 to 32 pages but Moore wants to grow to 48-page editions, he says.
Moore and two other undisclosed partners are investing an undisclosed amount to publish the paper, which will cover Clearwater, Largo and Dunedin and sell for a quarter at newsstands, he says. Moore is working out of a …
