Maui Ritz-Carlton under way
Ground will be broken tomorrow, Dec. 4, for The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Kapalua. This second Ritz-Carlton in Hawaii has a projected cost of more than $200 million.
"There has been a real demand by our customers for destination resorts," said Herve Humler, western regional vice president for The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Co., from his San Francisco office last week.
The 550-room Ritz-Carlton is being built on 40 acres on Honokahua Bay, Maui, as part of the Kapalua resort development.
Humler said the company's hotel on Maui will attract the same market as the The Ritz-Carlton Mauna Lani on the Big Island, which will open later …
