2003 JUL 3 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- EntreMed, Inc., (NASDAQ:ENMD) announced that National Cancer Institute (NCI) Phase I clinical data demonstrate that Panzem was well tolerated and produced an objective response in a patient with ovarian cancer.
This patient demonstrated a 67% reduction in tumor volume and a 78% reduction in CA125, which is a marker used to monitor disease in ovarian cancer patients. The study of 17 patients with advanced solid tumors was presented at the annual meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
