Albuquerque was a rarity this year in the Milken Institute Best Performing Cities index: a place that did well despite having a technology-oriented economy.
Albuquerque ranked 39th among the country's 296 largest metropolitan areas, in the index released today. That's down from 34th last year. The index ranks metro areas according to wage and salary growth, job growth and high-tech output growth.
