Smulian clan lets their clients see the lights

If you were to ask Jim, Betty or Robert Smulian if they've got a light, the answer would be, "Yes, we have several."

This family team of husband, wife and son is the brains behind Trimble-House Corp. The 30-year-old company designs, engineers and manufactures outdoor lighting fixtures, indoor commercial fixtures, plus residential and commercial gas lights.

The business began with Betty's fixture frustration. "I got frustrated searching for the right fixture for my dining room, so I decided that why not custom design my own," says Betty.
