Giving BMW a low 5
Thanks to your Oct. 21 spy shots acting as an early warning system, I knew if I were ever going to improve on my beloved '00 540i, I'd better move fast. I took a risk and accelerated plans to replace the best car I've ever owned. During the wait, I worried I had acted prematurely: Was it true the next M5 could add 50 hp and two more cylinders? Would it be much better than the last of the current 5s? Who cares? My Sterling Gray 2003 M5 arrived yesterday and I love it. Almost as importantly, the May 26 AutoWeek arrived today. I've got my new favorite car and I think I'll keep it until Chris Bangle retires.
