Yale University researchers found human metapneumovirus, which causes wheezing, cough and fever, in American children. Of 296 Connecticut kids with respiratory infections of unknown causes, 19 had hMPV, Pediatrics said. Some 15% to 34% of respiratory infections have no known cause.
