ALBUMS COMMENTARY

New albums by two venerated American veterans help to keep the post-Easter slump in artist album sales--usually well into double figures--down to a comparatively modest 6%. Madonna's American Life takes pole position with 65,000 sales, while Meat Loaf's introductory Mercury album Couldn't Have Said It Better enters at number four, with more than 33,000 sales.
