I could just tell that when AutoWeek reported that the same guy who was in charge of the Aztek project would lead the new C6 Vette project (AW, June 3, 2002) that we were in for some big trouble.

New Vette: Say it ain't so
Your C6 spy photos (AW, May 5) do not look like the next generation Corvette, but more like a C5 1/2. I'm afraid that not much has changed at GM even after Rick Wagoner brought Bob Lutz on board. Lutz is probably on a short leash. This Vette looks like a cost-cutting special. Tell it like it is, gentlemen: GM is missing the boat again.

I owned my first and last Corvette in 1965-67. It was a 1965 fastback that made me feel like a king every time I got behind the wheel. I sold it to fund my education and start a career, and haven't seen a Corvette since then that made me want another one. The 2005 is no exception. When will GM bring this great car into the modern world?
