Subaru WRX STi or Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution? Reader responses indicate the decision is just too close to call.

I would have to go with the STi. After peering out from behind a tree and seeing high-powered Subarus come flying by registering 130 mph at the Susquehannock Trail ProRally last year, I knew I had to own one.

Matt Chmielewski, Wilkes-Barre, Pa.

As an owner of a modified WRX, I'll take the STi. How could you say no to more power, especially with the low-end torque that the 2.5-liter motor provides?

James Frink, via e-mail

The Evo: better handling, better styling and it comes in more than one color. Personally, the attitude of, "It can come in any color as long as it's black'' has been played out.

Jameson Lipe, via e-mail
