It may seem strange that a man who excelled in a sport measured in microseconds should turn his attention to a craft in which it can take years before the results are in. For Mario Andretti, the common thread between racing and winemaking is passion.
Andretti's racing career took him all over the world, which allowed him to develop a knowledge of wines from many countries. Shortly after his "Arrivederci, Mario'' retirement tour in 1994, Andretti joined forces with winemaker Bob Pepi to form Andretti Winery in California's Napa Valley.
