On May 5, Senators Susan Collins, Maine Republican, and Carl Levin, Michigan Democrat, stood together in Sen. Joseph McCarthy's old hearing room to announce the release of previously closed transcripts of executive-session hearings conducted by McCarthy in 1953 and 1954.
