-- Dear Mr. Buckley: It pains me that you can entertain me with extremely interesting discussions of esoteric English usage, yet allow Linda Crowley (April 7) to get by with the awful nonstandard word "snuck." This non-word gives me pain whenever it pops up, as it frequently does from the mouth of a respected TV anchor (e.g., Brit Hume) and everywhere else, nowadays.
