McCann axes European managers.(McCann-Erickson Worldgroup)(Brief Article)
Three senior figures from the McCann-Erickson Worldgroup have been made redundant following a cost-cutting exercise resulting in the abolition of key European roles.
Universal McCann's executive vice-president and regional director, Brian Jacobs, and the McCann-Erickson chief strategic planning officer, Paul Twivy, have left their respective agencies and will not be directly replaced.
Jacobs' position will now be scrapped and the remit of the UK and Ireland chairman, Chris Shaw, will be expanded to include running Universal McCann's EMEA office.
Twivy, who had responsibility both for UK and regional planning, will be succeeded by a new planning director for the London office. The candidate will be announced within the next month.
Mike Court, a creative partner with specific responsibility for international accounts, was also made redundant.
