FactSet Research Systems Inc. is hardly a household name.

Even in its own industry, the firm is nowhere near as large or well known as Reuters Group PLC, Bloomberg LP, Thomson Financial and other providers of business and financial information.

Not that officials with the company are all broken up over its relative anonymity. FactSet is a hit with its customers, 95% of whom stick around once they've signed on for the first time.

The company also continues to pump out strong financial gains despite the down economy and ailing stock market.
