ANYONE who has survived adolescence knows pimples are as much a part of growing up as puppy love and diet crazes.

As a teen, do you remember standing in front of a mirror just before a big night out, with a red zit sitting on your forehead. Thoughts would have raced through your mind. `How did it get there?' or more importantly, `How am I going to get rid of it before someone actually sees it?!' Though it may not be life-threatening, acne is no laughing matter, explains Dr S. William Levy, clinical professor of dermatology at the University of California, San Francisco.
