The BP-led consortium building the 1mn b/d Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline has complained to the Turkish government about the slow pace of work on the Turkish section of the line.
BTC director-general Mike Townshend has written to Turkish prime minister Recep Tayip Erdogan and foreign minister Abdullah Gul blaming national pipeline firm Botas for delays to the project. He also complained about the replacement of Botas officials with "politically motivated" appointees.
