IT'S curtains down for "Miss Saigon," the Boublil-Schoenberg musical that placed Filipinos, especially Lea Salonga, in the international theater map.
After 14 years, "Miss Saigon" will have its very last performance on May 10, at the St. Augustine Parade in Bristol, England.
The musical which was produced by Cameron Mackintosh and which originated in London's Theater Royale on Drury Lane at the West End, with Lea Salonga as Kim, had a well-received United Kingdom tour which started in November 2001 in Manchester, after it ended its run in Manila, Singapore, Hong Kong and Sydney.
After Manchester, "Miss Saigon" went to Point Theater in Dublin, Ireland, followed by performances at the Edinburgh Playhouse in Scotland, which ended last January.
Last Feb. 4, "Miss Saigon" started at the Bristol Hippodrome.
