THE FACILITIES of Caltex and Petron at the Pandacan oil depot will stay open-at least for 20 more days-after two Manila regional trial court judges yesterday issued a temporary restraining order, preventing Mayor Lito Atienza and Manila City Hall from shutting down depot operations.
But another RTC judge has denied Shell's petition for a TRO due to lack of merit.
In a phone interview yesterday, Atienza said that to be fair, he would allow Shell to continue operations in the depot while the case is being heard.
In a statement yesterday, a Pilipinas Shell official revealed that the City of Manila will issue business permits to the three oil companies "as soon as possible."
Bobby Kanapi, general manager for external affairs, yesterday said that Shell would "continue to operate its Pandacan oil facility" on behalf of its customers.
