A report card on air quality released today by the American Lung Association gives Clark County a "D" for ground-level ozone pollution, an improvement over the failing grade the county received in the association's past nationwide studies.
The improvement, according to Celeste Ochal, an association representative in Las Vegas, reflects meteorological conditions that kept more ozone out of the air people breathe than in previous years.
The improvement, she said, "is due to favorable weather conditions rather than new measures to reduce pollution."
