LOVE, LUST AND A COUPLE OF LITTLE LIES 
 
   I want to see the full moon through stained glass 
   Her silver fullness split with fragments of colours 
   Jewelled--rubies, emerald, sapphires, amber 
 
   I want cut glass beads and 
   sharp edged trinkets 
   encrusted on my waistcoat 
   tightly stitched with metallic threads 
   A cuirass for my morals or 
   a weapon to scratch at your hands 
   when you reach out to touch me. 
 
   I want a stiffly starched lace jabot-- 
   white virginal, puritan, diurnal 
   cascading over my breasts. 
   A flimsy protection 
   for you to tear at with your teeth 
   exposing my throat.
