Seawater treatments have long been credited with helping French women maintain healthy, glowing skin and slim figures. (Of course, copious amounts of red wine, fine cheeses and access to great shopping don't hurt.) Known as thalassotherapy--derived from the Greek thalassa, "the sea"--this 50-year-old spa treatment is still packing them in, with hundreds of centers all over Europe, especially in Brittany, France, where the water is rich in algae and minerals.
