UPS profit beats views by 3 cents

The world's No. 1 package carrier earned 54 cents a share, up 8% vs. last year. United Parcel Service in Jan. lowered views amid soft U.S. business. Revenue rose 6% to $8 bil as international business surged 24%. Domestic revenue rose 2%, but UPS sees a turnaround in U.S. delivery volume. It also eased fears of a price war with FedEx. It expects 58-62 cents in Q2 vs. views for a 6% rise to 57 cents. UPS rose 4%.
